AN EARLY HOLLAND & HOLLAND 12-BORE 1888 PATENT 'ROYAL' SIDELOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 14607, circa 1890, 28in. replacement nitro barrels (Birmingham proofed, likely 1940's), the rib engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98 NEW BOND STREET. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and full choke, treble-grip action with shell fences, Scott patent gas check system, patent no. 617 of 1882, use number 4946, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, dipped edge lockplates, gold-inlaid cocking indicators, Holland & Robertson patent ejector system, patent no. 16691 of 16th November 1888, bold acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, the underside with 'ROYAL EJECTOR PATENT NO. 16691', brushed bright finish (some corrosion), 15in. replacement stock, weight 6lb. 8oz.
